Amid ongoing political tensions between India and Canada, Gurdas Maan has postponed his musical tour in Canada. This came to notice after the promoter of his tour took to social media and announced the same, stating that it was the ‘most responsible and necessary course of action’. It is pertinent to note that the legendary singer was all set to perform in Vancouver, Toronto, Calgary and Winnipeg.
Gurdas Maan Canada Tour Cancelled
The promoter Gurjit Bal Productions wrote on Facebook, "We regret to inform you that Gurdas Maan’s ‘Akhiyaan Udeekdiyan’ Canada tour, scheduled to take place this month, has been POSTPONED. We understand that this news may come as a disappointment to many of his fans and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused."
"In light of the current diplomatic unrest between the two countries and after careful consideration and assessment of the unpredictable circumstances, it has been determined that the cancellation of the event is the most responsible and necessary course of action for the time being," they further added.
The promoters went on to state, "We understand the time, effort, and anticipation invested by everyone involved in the event, and we deeply regret any inconvenience this change may have caused. We will be taking the necessary steps to refund any registration fees or ticket purchases made for the event. Detailed information regarding the refund process will be shared with you directly via email/website/other preferred communication channel."
India-Canada Political Tensions
India and Canada are experiencing a significant deterioration in their diplomatic relations, marked by a recent statement from Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. During a parliamentary session, Trudeau made allegations concerning the assassination of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a leader associated with the Khalistan separatist movement. Trudeau suggested the potential involvement of a "foreign agent" in Nijjar's killing and claimed to possess intelligence information and evidence pointing towards the Indian government's connection to Nijjar's death.
