Allu Arjun marked his Pan India debut in 2021 with the Sukumar-directed 'Pushpa,' which quickly became a global sensation. Since then, anticipation has been building around 'Pushpa 2: The Rule.' Recently, the filmmakers teased a glimpse of the upcoming Allu Arjun starrer and reaffirmed its theatrical release on August 15th. Now, reports have disclosed that the Sukumar-directed movie has secured its theatrical rights in North India for a staggering sum of Rs 200 crore.
Reportedly, they have made an advance payment of Rs 200 crore to secure the theatrical rights for the film. Reportedly, 'Pushpa 2: The Rule' is valued at Rs 1,000 crore for the theatrical rights across all languages, potentially surpassing SS Rajamouli’s RRR, starring Ram Charan and Jr NTR. It grossed a whopping Rs 900 crores in theatrical rights
Pushpa 2's Theatrical Rights
As reported by Pinkvilla, Anil Thadani has reportedly acquired the theatrical rights for Pushpa 2 in advance, for a sum of Rs 200 crore. "Pushpa 2 is the most awaited Indian Film of the year and the records have come down crashing left – right – center as far as the pre-release business is concerned. Anil Thadani has paid Rs 200 crore (on an advance basis) to acquire the theatrical rights of this action-packed entertainer directed by Sukumar."
Reports further stated that this deal for Pushpa 2 marks the largest theatrical agreement in North India, surpassing even the most significant deals of pre-pandemic times, which ranged from approximately Rs 140 to Rs 160 crore. "The theatrical deal of Pushpa 2 is unprecedented going a notch higher than the previous records and has got the entire trade talking. The makers have scored new highs in the pre-release deal and the eyes are now on Pushpa 2 to set the box office on fire upon its release on August 15."

Under the Sukumar Writings banner, 'Pushpa 2' is both directed and written by Sukumar. The film features Allu Arjun in the lead role, alongside Fahadh Faasil, Rashmika Mandanna, Dhananjay, Rao Ramesh, Sunil, and Anasuya Bharadwaj, all returning to reprise their roles from the previous installment. Scheduled for release on Independence Day, this action-packed movie is produced by Naveen Yerneni and Yalamanchili Ravi Shankar under their Mythri Movie Makers banner.
