Rajnikanth's much-awaited film 'Jailer' is one of the most anticipated films in 2023. The actor was last seen in 'Annatthe' which was released in 2021 and will now make a smashing comeback with 'Jailer' directed by Nelson which is said to be one of the most expensive Rajnikanth’s films.
The film has been in production for a long time and has been shot in Hyderabad, Chennai, and Kerala. Having a big star cast consisting of Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, Priyanka Mohan, and Ramya Krishnan among others, the film is set to be released on Independence Day.
The makers of the film will soon announce the official release date and promotional material in the coming days, where according to a report of Pinkvilla, the film will arrive during the Vinayaka Chaturthi Festival.
'Jailer' is also special as it is the first release of Rajnikanth after two years, and his fans are eager to see him on the big screen. It is touted to be an action thriller that is set within the confines of a high-security prison, where Rajinikanth will be seen playing the role of a strict warden.
The film is being written and directed by Nelson, who is known for his dark-tone comedy and unique use of superstar persona, making it a grander event. He was last known for his work in Vijay starrer 'Beast' which was a blockbuster.
Nelson is also known to be presenting his heroes as stoic, having a passive observation on the face of his characters. In the released teaser of the film, one can see a similar pattern in Rajnikanth's character as well.
The musical score of the film is given by Anirush Ravichander, whereas Vijay Karthik Kannan is the camera head. The film will be edited by R Nirmal, whereas it is backed up by Sun Pictures.
The makers of the film are planning to make it a pan-Indian film with a big star cast from different regional language industries also. While talking about Rajnikanth's upcoming project, the actor has joined hands with 'Jai Bhim' fame director TG Gnanavel for an untitled project.
