The rumours about Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda's relationship gained traction during their appearance on "Unstoppable with NBK" to promote their film 'Animal' alongside Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Ranbir, a guest on the show, unexpectedly dropped hints suggesting a closer connection between Rashmika and Vijay. He mentioned how Vijay introduced Sandeep at a post-release party for 'Arjun Reddy,' and hinted at a special nickname the actress has for Vijay.
On the show, Vijay's name came up when Telugu superstar Nandamuri Balakrishna asked director Sandeep Reddy Vanga and Rashmika to pick one movie between Arjun Reddy and Animal. During which, Ranbir playfully hinted at Rashmika's connection to both himself ('reel hero') and Vijay ('real hero'), prompting Rashmika to avoid taking sides. Balakrishna joined in, teasing Rashmika to call Vijay, to which Ranbir added a light-hearted comment about Vijay not answering Sandeep's call but Rashmika's, leaving her blushing. "Sir, let Rashmika call, Vijay won’t pick (Sandeep’s) call," Ranbir teased.
Ranbir asked for Rashmika’s phone and asked her to call him. "Don’t show the phone what the name is huh." Even Vijay didn't answer her call initially. He eventually called Sandeep back. When Liger actor's call was finally given to Rashmika, he casually asked her "What's up, re?". Rashmika warned Vijay that he is on speaker. Later, the fun banter continued when both Balakrishna and Ranbir prodded Vijay about whom he loves, and the witty reply naming Sandeep Reddy Vanga left everyone laughing out loud.

The team then asked Rashmika to choose between posters of Ranbir's 'Animal' and Vijay's 'Arjun Reddy.' Attempting to maintain diplomacy, Rashmika navigated the tricky situation saying, "I have a connection with Arjun Reddy of its release so I have a connection with Arjun Reddy and Animal is my film, I like both of them." When Ranbir and Balakrishna asked her what is the connection, the actress blushed and revealed that Arjun Reddy was the first film she watched when she moved to Hyderabad.
Going hilarious, Ranbir further revealed, "Sandeep met Rashmika for the first time at Arjun Reddy’s success party on Vijay’s terrace." This left Rashmika speechless and she told Ranbir, "It’s not necessary to give all this information."

Meanwhile, Rashmika and Ranbir have paired-up together for much-anticipated film Animal. The trailer of the film was unveiled during a grand event in Delhi on November 24. Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga and the film's stellar cast including Ranbir Kapoor, Bobby Deol, and Rashmika Mandanna were present at the event. The trailer presents Ranbir in a fierce and unyielding portrayal, driven by an unapologetic determination to seek revenge for the shooting of his father.
The upcoming film boasts an ensemble cast also featuring Anil Kapoor, and Triptii Dimri in crucial roles. The film, produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishna Kumar’s T-Series, Murad Khetani’s Cine 1 Studios, and Pranay Reddy Vanga’s Bhadrakali Pictures, will be released on December 1 in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.
