Rathnam Box Office Collection Day 5: Teaming up once more, Vishal and director Hari are stirring buzz for 'Rathnam' with their impressive track record. The film is now being screened worldwide, debuting simultaneously in both Tamil and Telugu languages. After a promising opening day, the Tamil film experienced a significant surge in box office numbers over the weekend. The ensemble cast includes Priya Bhavani Shankar, Ramachandra Raju, Samuthirakani, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Yogi Babu, Murali Sharma, Hareesh Peradi, Mohan Raman, and Vijayakumar.

Rathnam, a spirited young man living near the border of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh, embarks on a mission to protect Janani, a young woman targeted by gangsters. The film is holding well on weekdays considering its collection on first Monday and Tuesday.
According to Sacnilk, Rathnam raked in approximately Rs 2.30 crore in net earnings across India on its opening day, across all languages. Following a strong weekend, the film experienced a decline in collections on its fourth day -- the first Monday, amounting to Rs 1.50 crore. Now, for Tuesday the film raked in Rs 1.30 crore.
On April 30, 2024, Rathnam maintained an overall Tamil occupancy rate of 12.27%. During the morning shows, the turnout was recorded at 10.46%, while afternoon screenings saw an increase to 13.16%. In the evening, the occupancy rate stood at 11.61%, and the night shows garnered a higher turnout of 13.86%.
About Rathnam
Rathnam, working as an enforcer for MLA Panneer Selvam, takes on the responsibility of safeguarding Mallika, an aspiring medical student who bears a striking resemblance to his late mother. He protects her from the constant threats posed by land-grabbing siblings Beema Rayudu, Subba Rayudu, and Raghava Rayudu.
'Rathnam' was a joint venture between Stone Bench Films, Zee Studios, and Invenio Origin. Filming commenced in July 2023 across various locations such as Thoothukudi, Trichy, Karaikudi, Vellore, Tirupati, and Chennai. The movie features music by Devi Sri Prasad, cinematography by M. Sukumar, and editing by T. S. Jay. Notable action sequences were choreographed by Peter Hein, Kanal Kannan, Dhilip Subbarayan, and Vicky. Released on April 26, 2024, 'Rathnam' received a mixed-to-positive response from both critics and audiences.
