JE Entertainment Desk: 'Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani' is gearing up for its theatrical release. The movie stars Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh in the lead roles, while Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi and Dharmendra also star in supporting roles. Recently, makers dropped the film’s first song ‘Tum Kya Mile’, which has been garnering mixed response from the audience. Amid all this, a rumour surrounding actors’ salaries is doing rounds on social media.
If the reports are to be believed, Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh’s salaries in 'Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani' is more than that of veteran actors- Jaya Bachchan, Dharmendra and Shabana Azmi. Take a look at the salaries of the stellar cast of the forthcoming highly-anticipated film:
Alia Bhatt
According to reports, Alia Bhatt is being paid Rs 10 crores for her role in 'Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani'.
Ranveer Singh
For his role, Ranveer Singh is being paid Rs 25 crores.
The report also claims that veteran actors Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi and Jaya Bachchan were paid 1 crore each.
Are Veteran Actors Being Paid Such Less Amount In ‘RRKPK’?
Contrary to these numbers, a report in Koimoi cited a source saying, “Would Karan Johar insult the veteran actors, each one a legend, by offering them a pittance? The remuneration for Dharamji, Jayaji and Shabanaji is much higher than mentioned. And the remuneration mentioned for Ranveer and Alia is nowhere close to the figures mentioned. How can any writer or portal know the remuneration given to actors? These are all made-up figures.”
