‘Salaar Part 1: Ceasefire’ made its big debut on December 22, 2023, hitting theaters in both standard and IMAX versions. Critics had differing opinions, some leaning towards liking it, while others were less impressed. However, audiences showed up in droves, making it a box office success. It raked in an impressive Rs 705–715 crore in ticket sales, all while being made on a budget of Rs 270 crore. This achievement crowned ‘Salaar’ as the top-grossing Telugu film of 2023 and the third highest-grossing Telugu film ever.
Salaar 2 Shoot To Kickstart In April 2024
Having concluded the initial installment, fans are now eagerly anticipating any updates regarding the sequel. However, the wait is over. According to a report by Pinkvilla, Bobby Simha, an actor who played a significant character named Bhaarava in the movie series, revealed to IDreamMedia that filming for the next installment is scheduled to commence in April 2024.
Bobby also shared that due to ‘Salaar's massive success, Prabhas is keen on replicating that triumph with the sequel named ‘Shouryanga Parvam’. He mentioned that Prashanth Neel, the director, will continue the storyline.
Talking about Salaar 2, producer Vijay Kiragandur said, according to News18, “The script of Salaar 2 is ready and we will start the film any time. Prabhas wants to take it to floors as soon as possible and even Prashanth wants to do it. We have been speaking about Salaar 2 and our discussion in the last 2 to 3 days was to make the film in the next 15 months. We will definitely release Salaar 2 in 2025, which is about 18 months from now.”
“Salaar is a celebration for Prabhas fans across the globe. We are more than satisfied with the numbers and reactions. Yes, there are some negatives but no one has complained regarding the making, scale, and drama. People got to see Prabhas as an angry young man for the first time in 20 years,” he further added.
