The tragic shooting of Baba Siddique on October 12, 2024, has left the nation in shock, with politicians and Bollywood celebrities alike mourning the former Maharashtra minister's sudden demise. Siddique, a well-known figure for hosting grand Iftar parties, was shot outside his son Zeeshan Siddique's office in Bandra East by three unidentified assailants. He was rushed to Lilavati Hospital but was declared dead. His funeral is scheduled for 8:30 PM today at Bada Kabarastan in Marine Lines, Mumbai.

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, along with his family members including Sohail Khan, Shura Khan, Arpita Khan Sharma and Alvira Agnihotri, was seen arriving at Baba Siddique's residence to pay their last respects. Salman, accompanied by his bodyguard Shera, made his way through a large crowd to exit the Maqba Heights apartment complex. A source mentioned that Salman has been deeply affected by Siddique's death, constantly checking in on the family and coordinating funeral arrangements. He has cancelled all personal meetings for the next few days to focus on supporting Siddique's family.

Other celebrities who visited Baba Siddique’s residence include Pooja Bhatt, Sana Khan with her husband Mufti Anas, Jay Bhanushali, Shikhar and Veer Pahariya, MC Stan and Mannara Chopra. Television stars Karan Singh Grover and rapper MC Stan, the winner of Bigg Boss 16, were also seen at the residence.

Siddique, a former NCP leader, played a significant role in bridging gaps between Bollywood's biggest stars. His annual Iftar parties were renowned for bringing together celebrities and he was famously known for mending the feud between Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan. Authorities are still working to track down the two suspects involved in the shooting, with Gurmail Singh, one of the suspects, already in custody.
