Samantha Ruth Prabhu commended the Hema Committee report, which has inspired several actors in Kerala to speak out about their experiences with abuse in the industry. She also called on the Telangana government to release a similar report on sexual harassment within the Telugu film industry, emphasising that such a report would aid in shaping policies and creating a safer work environment for women.

Taking to her Instagram, she said, "We, the women of the Telugu film industry, welcome the Hema Committee report and applaud the persistent efforts of the WCC in Kerala, which has laid the path to this moment. We hereby urge the Telangana government, to publish the submitted sub committee report on sexual harassment, which can help frame government and industry policies, to establish a safe working environment for women in the TFI (Telugu Film Industry)."

Samantha Ruth Prabhu stated that Tollywood would greatly benefit if the Telangana government established a committee similar to the one in Kerala.

The Malayalam film industry is currently facing a wave of sexual assault allegations following the release of the Hema Committee report. The report revealed extensive sexual exploitation, discrimination, and other abuses within the industry, prompting many women to come forward with their distressing stories. To date, 17 cases have been filed. In reaction to the unfolding controversy, the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) has been dissolved, with both its executive committee and president Mohanlal resigning collectively. Among the recent allegations is a claim from actress Sonia Malhar, known for her supporting roles in Malayalam cinema.
