Sector 36 Movie Review

In a fictional story Inspired by true events, several children go missing from a basti (slum) in Sector 36. A determined police officer must now face off with a cunning serial killer as chilling investigation and dark secrets unfold.

The story starts on an interesting note with the introduction of Vikrant Massey as Prem Singh, a normal servant with a peculiar fascination for the popular show Sab Banenge Crorepati. As the scene unfolds, Prem's fixation on the SBC becomes evident and it reveals his desperate desire to participate and outsmart the game. However, beneath his intelligence lies a sinister individual who is capable of heinous crimes- the abduction, murder, and cannibalism of children.

Who knew a small servant could get himself involved in gruesome acts of killing and eating children? The main question is- what causes his mind not to stop? During the question and answer session with the policeman, played by Deepak Dobriyal, it was revealed that Massey aka Prem was sexually assaulted in the past by his own uncle, who used to run a butcher shop. The trauma and brutality he endured ultimately led him to snap, resulting in the murder of his uncle and the alleged consumption of his body parts.

Deepak Dobriyal aka Inspector Ram Charan Pandey holds on to his character extremely well. However, the police station scene, where he interrogates Prem Singh, had the potential to be more engaging. Nevertheless, Vikrant Massey's acting during the entire sequence is the standout aspect of the movie. The gestures he uses to explain how he murdered the innocent children and disposed of their bodies after eating parts of them are extremely unsettling to watch.

Inspector Pandey's investigation leads him to Prem Singh's hometown, where he uncovers a shocking revelation that leaves him stunned. This discovery sets him on a path that takes him to a place he never thought he'd go, at least not so soon.

Sector 36 Final Verdict

Movie Rating: 3/5

Sector 36 is a gripping portrayal of the heinous crimes that once shook the city of Noida. The film boasts an impressive ensemble cast who bring depth and nuance to their respective roles, making the movie an engaging and thrilling watch. However, it's important to note that the film's graphic content, including explicit language and disturbing themes, renders it unsuitable for family viewing. The excessive use of abusive language may be too intense for younger audiences, making it a film best watched by mature viewers only.
