'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' fame Shailesh Lodha, who played the titular character in the show, left the popular comedy series in April last year. Due to a rift between the creator of the show, Asit Modi, and Shailesh Lodha undertook the decision to leave the show for good.

However, now according to a report published in Hindustan Times, Shailesh Lodha was not given his dues and had to wait for more than six months to clear his dues of over a year. As the makers still have not paid the actor's fees, Shailesh Lodha now has decided to take legal support.

In the first week of March, Shailesh Lodha filed a complaint against Asit Modi for his pending dues and then sued his production company. The actor thus reached out to the National Company Law Tribunal and then initiated a corporate insolvency resolution under section 9, as Asit Modi was not able to pay his debts. The hearing is set to be in May.

Shailesh Lodha thus stated, "The matter is subjected and under court, so I'll not comment anything on this." Asit Modi, on the other hand, excused himself from commenting on the matter as he is traveling currently.

Next, the project head of the show Sohil Ramani was also contacted regarding the matter on which he said, "There isn't much to say that hasn't been said earlier. Shailesh Lodha has been like a family only. When he left we respected that. And on numerous occasions through email and on the telephone we have requested him to come to the office to sign all required paperwork and take his remaining enumeration."

He further said, "We have never denied or refused to give his payment. In every company when people leave, they have to sign full and final papers before complete payment is released. Where is the issue? Instead of going around and complaining, isn't it better to simply follow the regular procedure?"

Ramani also said, "Ask Ramani how they wish to pursue the case, and he retorted, "We are not pursuing any case, because we did not refuse to give his payment. We have already informed sir to take his dues and sign the required papers."
