Ashneer Grover, known for his stint on Shark Tank India, and his wife Madhuri Jain Grover have reportedly been denied permission by the Delhi Police to travel to the United Kingdom. The couple had sought permission to visit the London School of Economics (LSE) as guest lecturers from March 9 to March 15, but their request was rejected by the investigation officer of the Delhi Police’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW).
Ashneer Grover responded to the news, stating, “Correspondence between me and EOW is confidential and as per court’s directives… I will continue to cooperate with police in this open and shut case and keep winning in Court. I’ve not got any correspondence regarding the travel permission (which is a confidential correspondence) as yet from EOW.”
Ashneer Grover faced allegations of misappropriation of funds at BharatPe in May last year, leading to an EOW FIR being filed against him under various sections of the Indian Penal Code including criminal breach of trust, cheating, forgery, and criminal conspiracy.
Grover rose to fame as a judge on Shark Tank India's first season, known for his straightforward replies and scolding of some pitchers. However, he did not return for the show's second season and was replaced by CarDekho co-founder Amit Jain.
