Shekhar Suman, known for his role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's web series 'Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar,' has discussed a particular scene involving his character engaging in oral sex with Manisha Koirala's character in a carriage. The series currently available on Netflix has garnered positive reviews from the audience. The series captures the essence of the tumultuous era spanning from the 1920s to the 1940s, delving into the intricate world of tawaifs in Heera Mandi. However, the abovementioned scene sparked a lot of discussions. Now, Shekhar revealed that he found it challenging to discuss the scene, even with his wife, and suggested that she watch the final version of the show.

Shekhar Suman also highlighted that viewers are appreciating the emotional depth of the scene, which depicts a nawab grappling with social status and financial issues due to the British colonial rule and interactions with courtesans. He told Pinkvilla, "People are slowly understanding the carriage scene and are appreciating it. The pathos of the nawab that’s hidden inside it. The way he is being treated by circumstances, some created by Britishers and some by the tawaifs. He is hanging in the middle."

Shekhar disclosed that he couldn’t even tell his wife, Alka, about the scene beforehand. "I couldn’t even tell my wife what he is doing. When I came back from the shoot, she said you did a scene and you are not telling me about it. I said ‘woh batane layak hai hee nahi aur karke dikhane layak toh bilkul bhi nahi. Woh tum seedha hi dekh lena’ (It’s not worth talking about and absolutely not worth being performed. You watch it in the final cut.)"
