Actor Sonal Chauhan has revealed that she is stranded in Dubai after flight services were suspended due to rising tensions in the Middle East. The disruption follows joint military strikes by the United States and Israel on Iran, which led to airspace closures and widespread cancellations across the Gulf region.
Taking to social media, the Jannat actor made a public appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, asking for assistance in returning home safely. In her post, she wrote, “Hon’ble PM @narendramodi ji, I am currently stranded in Dubai due to the ongoing crisis.” She further added, “With flights cancelled and no clear way to return to India, I respectfully seek the Government’s guidance for a safe journey home. Grateful for any support extended.”
According to reports, escalating hostilities in the region have forced authorities to temporarily shut parts of the airspace, affecting thousands of international travellers. Dubai International Airport reportedly faced disruptions, with several flights either delayed or cancelled. In response, the Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi released a statement assuring assistance to Indian citizens. The embassy said it is working closely with UAE officials and airline operators to support those impacted by the precautionary airspace closure. It added that authorities in the UAE have reassured full cooperation and support for stranded passengers.
Sonal Chauhan’s appeal quickly gained attention online, with many social media users urging concerned authorities to prioritise the safety of Indian citizens caught in the crisis. Besides Sonal, Indian badminton star PV Sindhu is also reportedly stranded at Dubai airport. She was travelling to Birmingham for the All England Open tournament when operations were suspended.
