After Won Ji An’s intense role in Squid Game 2, she is set to star in JTBC’s rom-com Kdrama Waiting for Gyeongdo, opposite South Korean star Park Seo Joon. Speculation about her casting as the female lead for the series had been circulating on social media for some time. Now, she has officially been confirmed to take on the role alongside Joon. With the casting process underway, the production of the upcoming rom-com is expected to begin soon.

Directed by Lim Hyun-wook and written by Yoo Young-ah, Waiting for Gyeongdo is set to be a romantic comedy centered around former lovers Lee Gyeong Do and Seo Ji Woo. The two fell in love at 20 and rekindled their relationship at 28. before breaking up. Years later, former lovers cross paths again, Gyeong Do, now a journalist on a mission to cover a scandal and Ji Woo, the wife of the man involved in the news. As their lives intersect once more, their journey unfolds with romance and humour in unexpected ways, according to a Soompi report.

Won Ji An will play Seo Ji Woo, the glamorous and confident second daughter of Jarim Apparel, while Park Seo Joon will portray Lee Gyeong Do, an entertainment reporter. In this rom-com drama, viewers will witness Ji Woo’s silent struggles behind her glamorous image as she grapples with the fallout from her reckless husband's actions. Her life will take an unexpected turn when her husband’s scandalous affair—exposed by her former lover Gyeong Do—leads to their divorce. At her lowest point, Seo Ji Woo reminisces about the happiest love of her life. Fans are eager to see the chemistry between Park Seo Joon and Won Ji An on screen. Waiting for Gyeongdo is set to air later this year. The series promises to bring timeless emotions, hope of love, blending humor with emotional moments.
