JE Entertainment Desk: 'Squid Game' is making a return with its brand new season which will be more intense and dark than the earlier release directed by Hwang Dong-Hyuk. The series stood out to be the most-watched show on Netflix in 2021 and instantly gained popularity becoming the new binge-watch of its time.
Now, at Netflix's Tudum event in Brazil, the streaming platform shared a new video on Twitter regarding the release date of the series and provided a tentative time for launch. The upcoming season of 'Squid Game', will feature Im Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Sung-Hoon, and Yang Dong Geun as the new players in the run.

The cast members from season one will also join the hunt including Lee Jung-Jae, Lee Byung-Hun, Gong Yoo, and Wi Ha-Jun respectively. In the video, Netflix gave a small glimpse of season one and next showcased the new cast walking up to a podium.

At a Netflix press conference in 2022, the director of the show revealed that the second season of the series will be released in 2024. However, at Tudum on Saturday, Netflix revealed that the series will be streaming from November 2023.
According to a report in Pinkvilla, the plot will follow the fallout of Gi-Hun, who will remain in Korea instead of joining his daughter in the US and will shed new light on the mysterious game.
Actor Lee Jung-Jae revealed that the show is being directed at a grander level this time, as he said, "I have no idea what will happen or the scale of it, but the only thing he did tell me was that Seong Gi-hun is going to be in the show again, and he's going to be playing in the arena again."
Talking about season one of the series, it gained huge popularity and received 14 Emmy nominations out of which the series won 6. Lee Jung-Jae won the lead actor award and Lee You-mi won the best guest actress award in the series.
The team also won an Emmy for Outstanding Special Visual Effects In A Single Episode. It also bagged another award in the category Outstanding Stunt Performance, Outstanding Production Design For A Narrative Contemporary Program, and Outstanding Directing For A Drama Series respectively.
