About Border

It is a 1997 epic Hindi-language war film directed, produced, and written by J.P. Dutta. Set during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971, the film depicts the Battle of Longewala. Starring Sunny Deol, Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Akshaye Khanna, and others, it was filmed mainly in Bikaner, Rajasthan, with some scenes in Jodhpur.

It focuses on Major Kuldip Singh Chandpuri (Sunny) and his small battalion stationed at the Longewala border outpost in Rajasthan. When Pakistani forces attack with tanks and infantry, Kuldip and his men bravely defend their post against overwhelming odds. Despite heavy casualties, they hold their ground until Indian Air Force planes arrive and turn the tide, forcing the Pakistani troops to retreat.

The song 'Sandese Aate Hai' by Sonu Nigam and Roop Kumar Rathod became immensely popular. It was a box office hit, grossing Rs 655.7 million worldwide and winning numerous awards, including several Filmfare and National Film Awards.
