Swatantrya Veer Savarkar Box Office Collection Day 5: Randeep Hooda's recent release is encountering difficulties in pulling audiences to cinemas despite early anticipations. The film delves into the life of Veer Savarkar, a multifaceted figure who was not only a politician and activist but also a prolific writer, and is regarded as one of the key architects of the Hindu nationalist political ideology. While Randeep's return to the silver screen with 'Swatantrya Veer Savarkar' has garnered a positive reception from viewers, the film experienced a drop in its collection on Day 5.
Swatantrya Veer Savarkar Box Office Report
To bolster ticket sales, the film's producers recently implemented a Buy 1 Get 1 offer on tickets, with the intention of enticing more viewers and enhancing box office figures. Nonetheless, it seems that the offer hasn't yielded the desired results in terms of attracting audiences to cinemas. As per Sacnilk, 'Swatantrya Veer Savarkar' is expected to generate approximately Rs 1.10 crore on its fifth day in theaters, with a 15.38% occupancy rate in Hindi cinemas. While this marks a slight improvement compared to its opening day earnings of Rs 1.05 crore, the film continues to receive a tepid response overall.
About Swatantrya Veer Savarkar
Directed, co-written, and co-produced by Randeep Hooda, 'Swatantrya Veer Savarkar' also stars Ankita Lokhande in a significant role. The film features Amit Sial as Ganesh Damodar Savarkar, Rajesh Khera as Mahatma Gandhi, Lokesh Mittal as B. R. Ambedkar, and Brajesh Jha as Subhash Chandra Bose.
Randeep had previously shared images of his visit to a cell in Kalapani, where Savarkar had been imprisoned. He revealed attempting to lock himself inside the cell during the visit to understand what Savarkar might have endured. However, he admitted his inability to stay locked for even 20 minutes, whereas Savarkar endured 11 years of imprisonment. In an interview with India Today, the actor also talked about making his directorial debut with 'Swatantrya Veer Savarkar’. "It was a series of events that led me to it. I was cast as an actor in this film and, since there was no real script, I kept waiting for it and I kept losing weight. So, I wrote it myself with my co-writer Utkarsh Naithani, and then the universe conspired. I got the baton of the director, and it was something which I would probably have done later on in my life," he said.
Randeep added, "It was a big historical movie, a factual film and about such a controversial character, so it was like jumping into the deep end of the sea right from the beginning. It came to writing a screenplay, then as a director, then post-production, then editing. So, thanks to Mr. Vinayak Damodar Savarkarji that I have become from just an actor into a writer, director and even a producer, and it has been a meteoric learning process for me and I still am learning."
