Takeshi's Castle, a cherished 1980s TV program, holds a special place in the memories of millennials. This Japanese game show, known for its humorous commentary, provided a welcome break from stress. Prime Video has now introduced the Indian adaptation of this beloved 80s show, with actor and content creator Bhuvan Bam as the commentator. Excitingly, the makers of Takeshi’s Castle have just announced the release date through a lively teaser for the Indian reboot.

Bringing back the entertaining quirkiness of the original series, the beloved 80s Japanese game show returns after a thirty-four-year hiatus.  The eight-episode series is set to exclusively stream on Prime Video in India starting November 2.

The video commences by depicting Titu Mama in the midst of his everyday occupation as a shoe salesman, humorously self-proclaimed as a 'shoe-stopper.' However, the narrative takes an amusing turn when the Yakuza abruptly invade the store and seize him. Subsequently, it comes to light that Titu Mama is indebted to the Yakuza, and the sole means to settle this debt is by lending his voice to the Hindi revival of the legendary Japanese game show, Takeshi’s Castle.

As evident in the video, the reboot faithfully preserves the core spirit of the original program. More than 100 contestants dash through a series of wild challenges, all in pursuit of the enticing one-million-yen prize. Actor and content creator Bhuvan Bam, albeit under duress from the Yakuza, brings his distinctive Indian viewpoint to the show. The forthcoming series guarantees an abundance of entertainment for the audience.
