Tamil actor Daniel Balaji passed away from a heart attack on the night of Friday, March 29, at a private hospital in Chennai, as per reports. The 48-year old was admitted to a hospital in Chennai's Kottivakam after experiencing chest pain. Despite receiving medical treatment, he unfortunately succumbed to the condition. His body was reportedly taken to his residence in Purasaiwalkam for final rites.
His sudden demise has deeply saddened his fans and the Tamil film industry. Many Tamil actors, directors, and producers are expected to pay their last respects.
Film analyst Sreedhar Pillai shared the news of Balaji's passing on his X handle. "#DanielBalaji (48) a fine actor passed away late night due to a cardiac arrest. Who can forget his voice and performance as the antagonist in Vettaiyaadu Vilayaadu, Polladhavan? #RIPDanielBalaji."

Director Mohan Raja wrote, "Such a Sad news. He Was an inspiration for me to join film institute. A very good friend. Miss working with him. May his soul rest in peace."

About Daniel Balaji
Daniel Balaji commenced his acting journey in television with the immensely popular Tamil daily serial, Chithi, where he portrayed the character of Daniel. He made his transition to the big screen with the 2002 Tamil romantic drama, April Madhathil. However, it was his roles in Gautham Menon's 'Kaakha Kaakha,' starring Suriya and Jyotika, that brought him widespread recognition. Known for his devoutness, Daniel Balaji was reportedly involved in constructing a temple in Avadi. His funeral is reportedly scheduled to take place at his residence in Purasaiwalkam on Saturday.
