Popular stand-up comedian Tanmay Bhat recently shared a new video on his YouTube channel, where he reacted to the memes related to the India’s Got Latent controversy. In the video, Tanmay said that he had approached renowned YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia two weeks before he got into the controversy over his ‘parent sex’ remark. Now, Bhat revealed that Ranveer has stopped replying to his messages. While beginning the video, Tanmay read a comment on his page. It read, “Would you rather keep doing reaction episodes or bring Ranveer once and end it?” This comment left other comedians like Rohan Joshi, Kaustubh Agarwal, Piyush Sharma, Kushagra Srivastava, and Ravi Gupta in splits.

Tanmay also shared, “Just two weeks before this whole thing happened, I texted Ranveer and asked him to do a reaction video on fitness memes.” He then joked, “He isn’t responding. I wonder what happened.” In the same video, he also played another meme video where Ranveer can be seen playfully making ‘ho’ sound which was compared with to a police siren. All the panellists in the video were seen in laughter.

Samay Raina and Ranveer Allahbadia faced criticism after the latter made a controversial remark. He asked a question to a contestant, “Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once to make it stop forever?” This led to huge controversy and several cases has been filed against it.

After the incident, Allahbadia shared an apology video on Instagram. He said, “My comment wasn’t just inappropriate. It wasn’t even funny. Comedy is not my forte. I am just here to say sorry. Many of you asked if this is how I’m gonna use my platform, and obviously, this is not how I’m gonna use it. I am not going to give any context or justification or reasoning for whatever happened, I am just here to offer an apology. I’m just here for an apology. I personally had a lapse in judgment. It wasn’t cool on my part. The podcast is watched by people of all ages. I don’t want to be the kind of person that takes that responsibility lightly, and family is the last thing that I would ever disrespect.”
