About The Buckingham Murders
Hansal Mehta’s film transports viewers to the somber, rain-soaked landscapes of Buckinghamshire, where Kareena Kapoor Khan delivers a powerful performance as British-Indian detective Jasmeet Bhamra. Set against this gloomy backdrop, the story follows Jasmeet as she, deeply mourning the death of her young son, investigates the disappearance of another child in a close-knit community. Although it delves into familiar crime procedural territory, The Buckingham Murders distinguishes itself through its character-focused narrative.
Jasmeet’s emotional struggle with grief takes center stage, and Kareena’s nuanced portrayal of loss and trauma significantly enriches the film, elevating it beyond a standard whodunit.
Directed by Hansal Mehta and produced by Kareena Kapoor Khan, Shobha Kapoor, and Ekta Kapoor, the film features Kapoor Khan in the role of a distraught British-Indian detective tasked with solving the murder of a child in Buckinghamshire.
