About The Kerala Story:

Directed by Sudipto Sen and produced by Vipul Shah, the film encountered considerable criticism even prior to its release. Additionally, it faced a shadow ban in Tamil Nadu, while the Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee, also imposed a ban on its screening in the state.

Nevertheless, despite these obstacles, the movie has achieved tremendous success at the box office, amassing a worldwide collection of Rs 264.4 crore and establishing itself as a blockbuster flick.

Speaking about the ban in West Bengal, Sudipto Sen told ANI, "Not a single untoward incident has happened in the state because of the film. The decision to ban the film is politically motivated. I request her to watch the film and then take any decision...I am not a politician, I am a filmmaker.

"I can only make a film, you want to see it or not that you guys will decide. There was no problem when the film was released in Kolkata for four days, suddenly Didi felt that there could be law and order issues, Mahua Moitra, and Mamata Banerjee, are the champion of free speech, and human rights."
