The movie, starring Adah Sharma in the lead role, hit the theatres on May 5, 2023 and since then the viewers have been awaiting for its digital premiere. For the unversed, ‘The Kerala Story’ faced back to back postponements, but after a long wait it is all set to premiere on popular OTT platform.

According to a review by Jagran English, “This story of a town in Kasaragod, Kerala, takes you through the plight of three women who are affected by gruesome incidents. Love-Jihad, rapes, sex-slavery, ISIS recruitment, and more, all has been covered in this 2 hours 18 minutes movie, The Kerala Story.
The Kerala Story Controversy
‘The Kerala Story’ has been accused of promoting Hindu nationalist propaganda. The film purports to depict the real-life account of three students, one Hindu and two Christian, who are allegedly coerced by Muslim individuals to join the Islamic State organization. This narrative aligns with the controversial "love jihad" theory propagated by Hindu nationalist groups.
The Kerala Story OTT Release Date
On Monday, OTT giant Zee5 announced via its Instagram account that The Kerala Story will be available on the platform from February 16, 2024. The announcement read, “The wait is officially over!
