The Village Tamil Web Series Twitter Review: Arya-starrer Tamil web series 'The Village' has finally been released on OTT and the project has created a lot of excitement ever since its announcement. The series also stars Divya Pillai, George Maryan, Baby Aazhiya, John Kokken and Pooja Ramachandran in the lead roles. It focuses on Dr Gautham Subramanian and his family, who get stuck in a deserted village while travelling from Nagapattinam to Chennai after their car breakdown. Gautham's life takes a dark turn after he finds out the village is haunted by ghosts and monsters and tries to save his family.

Earlier, in an interview with Cinema Express, Arya talked about his OTT debut. He said, "Your characterisation can be well established and there is no hurry to finish your story in two hours. In films, you need to be quicker; otherwise, you cannot keep the audience invested. But when it comes to series, you get breathing space for writing and performance too. This also gives an actor even more mileage due to its duration. It is like watching a bunch of films.”

Talking about the plot of 'The Village', he told India Today, "The horror series is a class apart from all other horror genres seen on the Indian OTT platforms. A lot of times, the horror that we see in movies too is very restricted and one cannot go beyond a certain point while creating it, but here Milind (Rau - the director) has gone all out. I think this is a way for creators to believe in making this kind of content, because people really want to watch these types of genres."

'The Village' is directed by Milind Rau and is streaming on Prime Video.
