Mani Ratnam's upcoming movie 'Thug Life' has created a lot of excitement among the audience ever since its announcement as it will start a talented ensemble cast. Kamal Haasan will reunite with Mani Ratnam after a long time and fans are eager to see the magic the duo will create on-screen. Silambarasan TR has now joined the star cast of 'Thug Life' and the makers shared a new poster and teaser of his character.

Sharing the poster, the official X page of Madras Talkies wrote, "From the ashes of rage, the new thug in town arises! Welcoming @SilambarasanTR_ onboard #ThugLife."

It was announced that Dulquer Salmaan and Jayam Ravi will also be seen in 'Thug Life' but the two decided to leave the project. As per the latest buzz, Ashok Selvan has been approached to star in the movie.

Apart from Kamal Haasan and Silambarasan TR, the movie also stars Trisha, Gautham Karthik, Joju George and Aishwarya Lekshmi. AR Rahman is the music composer of the film, Ravi K Chandran will handle the cinematography and Sreekar Prasad will handle the editing.

On the work front, Silambarasan was last seen in 'Patha Thalu' in 2023.

Kamal Haasan will next star in 'Kalki 2898 AD' along with Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan and Disha Patani.

He will also be seen in 'Indian 2', along with Siddharth, Vivek, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Gurusomasundaram, Bobby Simha, Manobala, Samuthirakani, George Maryan and Delhi Ganesh. 'Indian 2' will stream on Netflix after its theatrical run. Apart from Tamil, 'Indian 2' will release in the dubbed version of Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi.

Mani Ratnam last directed 'Ponniyin Selvan 2', which became a huge hit and starred Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, R. Sarathkumar, Vikram Prabhu, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Rahman and R. Parthiban.
