Tom Wilkinson, best known for his role in 'The Full Monty' and 'In The Bedroom', passed away on December 30 at the age of 75. The news of his demise was confirmed by his agent, who released an official statement on behalf of Wilkinson's family. Wilkinson received several accolades in his career, including Golden Globe, BAFTA, Primetime Emmy and two Oscar nominations.
Confirming Tom Wilkinson's demise, his agent said in a statement, "It is with great sadness that the family of Tom Wilkinson announce that he died suddenly at home on 30 December. His wife and family were with him. The family asks for privacy at this time.”
Wilkinson rose to fame after playing the role of Gerald Cooper in the 1997 comedy film 'The Full Monty'. He further reprised his role of Gerald Cooper in the follow-up of 'The Full Monty', which was released as a series on Disney+.
His co-star Robert Carlyle, while speaking to a PA news agency about Wilkinson's death, said, "So sad to hear of Tom’s passing. He’ll be sorely missed by everyone who had the pleasure of working with him. Such a huge performer, a real titan of an actor, one of the greats of not only his, but of any generation.”
