Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna have been married for over two decades now. Both the stars have established their careers on different paths. They also have different ideologies which they never shied away to express in front of the public. The actress-turned-author recently talked about the criticism that she faces due to their different ideologies. Taking a sarcastic dig, Twinkle mentioned that Akshay is not a toddler but her husband who does not have to have a similar thought process. 

In her latest column for the Times of India, Twinkle said “Sitting for an interview, I am asked, ‘You are a star wife; tell us what it’s like?’ While my first instinct is to bite the reporter’s index finger, I reply, ‘I am not sure that an entity like ‘star wife’ exists, unless, in the way that Manglik women marry trees, because of some Rahu Ketu ka dosh, you end up marrying Sirius or worse, Halley’s Comet.” 

She further added, “After 20 years of answering this annoying question, I have an oyster-like attitude to irritants and the ability to craft black pearls of wisdom in response. I’m also often asked about — and blamed for — the difference in our political views. It’s almost like people believe he isn’t my husband but a toddler who will listen to me when I say, ‘Beta ji, please walk on the left side of the road, and I will give you a Frooti.’” 

Earlier in an interview with Galatta India, Akshay also talked about different ideologies with Twinkle. He said, “Me and my wife are very different. We are poles apart. She thinks left, I think right. The only thing which is common in us is that we both like to sleep early and wake up early. Another thing which we like is playing Rummy or Ludo. Nothing else is common in us. But, it’s not just about that. Respect is the most important thing. It is important to give each other space. There are 36 traits in people, not necessarily they all have to be common in a couple. But if you have that one trait of respecting each other, I think it’s equivalent to having all the traits you need in a relationship.” 

On the work front, Akshay Kumar’s last film Sky Force has been running well at the theatres. The film was released in theatres on January 24, 2025. The movie also stars Veer Pahariya, Sara Ali Khan and Nimrat Kaur in key roles.
