Despite featuring talented casts, including Janhvi Kapoor in Ulajh and Ajay Devgn with Tabu in Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha, both movies received mixed reviews and couldn't attract enough viewers. The Hindi film releases of the past week turned out to be disappointing, with neither film gaining significant traction despite efforts to generate interest. As a result, both movies suffered severe losses at the box office.
Ajay Devgn's starrer surged ahead of Janhvi Kapoor's spy thriller on its fifth day. Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha garnered ₹0.90 crore while Ulajh accumulated only ₹0.65 crore, showcasing Ajay's film leading in collections.

Ulajh tells the story of a young diplomat from a renowned family of patriots, thrust into a perilous personal conspiracy while serving in a pivotal career role far from home. Janhvi Kapoor leads the cast, joined by Gulshan Devaiah, Roshan Mathew, Meiyang Chang, Rajesh Tailang, Adil Hussain, and Jitendra Joshi in significant roles.
In its first four days at the box office, Ulajh struggled to gain momentum and amassed an estimated ₹5.55 crore net in India. On its fifth day, the film's earnings saw a slight increase, adding approximately ₹0.65 crore to its total, bringing it to ₹6.20 crore overall. On Tuesday, August 6, 2024, 'Ulajh' recorded an average occupancy rate of 11.35% across Hindi markets. The morning shows started at 6.72%, afternoon shows saw 12.35%, evening shows held steady at 11.33%, and night shows peaked at 14.99%.
Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha Box Office Collection Day 5:
Directed by Neeraj Pandey, Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha chronicles the tumultuous journey of Krishan and Vasudha from 2000 to 2023. The film stars Ajay Devgn and Tabu in pivotal roles, supported by Jimmy Sheirgill, Shantanu Maheshwari, and Saiee Manjrekar.
The film struggled to gain traction and accumulated an estimated ₹7.75 crore net in India, inn first four days. On its fifth day, the film's box office earnings showed a slight improvement, adding around ₹0.90 crore to reach a total of ₹8.65 crore. On Tuesday, August 6, 2024, 'Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha' recorded an overall Hindi occupancy rate of 8.93%. The morning shows began with 5.23% occupancy, afternoon shows saw an increase to 8.99%, evening shows maintained a steady 9.35%, and night shows peaked at 12.15%.
