Initially slated to hit theaters in January 2025, coinciding with the Pongal season, the film's release was postponed due to undisclosed reasons. However, the wait won't be much longer, as Vidaamuyarchi is now scheduled to release worldwide on February 6, 2025.

About the movie: Vidaamuyarchi, an upcoming Indian Tamil-language action thriller film, is directed by Magizh Thirumeni and produced by Subaskaran Allirajah under Lyca Productions. The film's storyline is inspired by the 1997 American film Breakdown. The movie boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Ajith Kumar, Trisha Krishnan, Arjun Sarja, Regina Cassandra, Arav and Ramya Subramanian.

The plot revolves around Arjun's character, who embarks on a perilous journey to find his missing wife, Kayal, who was kidnapped by a notorious group in Azerbaijan. Initially, Vignesh Shivan was set to direct Ajith's 62nd film, but Magizh Thirumeni eventually took over the project. The film was officially announced in May 2023, along with its title, and principal photography commenced in October 2023.
