Vikram Bhatt is busy promoting his upcoming movie, Tumko Meri Kasam, which stars Anupam Kher, Esha Deol, Adah Sharma and Ishwak Singh play the main parts. The filmmaker talked candidly about his autoimmune disease in a recent interview. He also discussed how actresses like Deepika Padukone and Samantha Ruth Prabhu inspire and uplift others by sharing their health challenges.
Vikram Bhatt revealed in an interview with Pinkvilla that he has always suffered from depression and this the reason he did not want to have his wife, Shweta in his life. Explaining his health condition, the filmmaker said, "I have an autoimmune condition, it called Axial spondyloarthritis. It is a kind of an arthritis where the bones begin to fuse. The result is a lot of pain."

Looking back, Vikram Bhatt pointed out that it wouldn't have been simple to have an open conversation about mental health twenty years ago."You were not supposed to talk about mental health. I think one of the first persons to talk about this was Deepika Padukone. Samantha Prabhu has a condition call Myositis which is a very close one to what I suffer from. I think it is very important for people to come out with their mental illnesses because it gives a lot of strength to youngsters, to people who are suffering from it and also keeping it quite," he added.

Vikram Bhatt concluded saying, "When big idols like Deepika Padukone, Samantha, and all of them come out and talk about it, people are energized, in a way encouraged to talk about their problems as well."
Vikram Bhatt examined the detrimental effects of social media on young people who use it to compare themselves to others depending on their financial situation and purchasing power. Additionally, he recommended parents to have some control over their teen's social media consumption. According to Vikram, it's critical to identify symptoms such as sluggishness, antisocial behavior, altered eating and sleeping habits, etc.
