Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone's starrer 'Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani' was released in 2013, which stood out to be one of the most loved films of the duo. The film was directed by Ayan Mukerji and also featured Aditya Roy Kapur and Kalki Kochelin in pivotal roles.

Made under the banner of Dharma Productions, Ranbir Kapoor, the lead of the film, dropped a major hint on the coming of the sequel of the film during a virtual chat with his fans. He said that the film would make a 'good sequel.' Ranbir also revealed that Ayan Mukerji had a 'nice story' in mind, however, the director got busy with their film 'Brahmastra.'

Ranbir Kapoor spilled the beans on the sequel of the film, where he spoke about the storyline of 'Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani', where the story could be depicted as '10 years forward' where the leads of the film are living their lives.

According to a report in Pinkvilla, he said, "I think Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani would make a good sequel... Ayan also had a very nice story, I remember, but then he went into this Brahmastra journey. But, never say never. He might make it after a couple of years."

He further said, "I think the story will be 10 years forward where Bunny, Naina, Avi, and Aditi, are in their lives. I think it'll be quite interesting and nice to explore those characters."

In 2018, Ranbir Kapoor also spoke about the sequel of the film in one of his interviews, where the actor revealed that Ayan Mukerji is busy creating the 'Brahmastra' sequels. Ranbir Kapoor said, "Ayan is on the journey to make Brahmastra, which is very time-consuming. But we have often spoken about Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani 2. He also has an idea for it and he seldom says we should have just done that it would be an easier film."

He further said, "More easier than Brahmastra, because he is going quite crazy, making this film. You never know. Maybe between Brahmastra Part 1 and 2, we get a window of six months."

Talking about Ranbir Kapoor's work front, the actor was last seen in 'Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar' alongside Shraddha Kapoor. The film was directed by Luv Ranjan and was the second highest-grossing film of 2023 after 'Pathaan.'

He will next be seen in Sandeep Vanga Reddy's 'Animal' co-starring Rashmika Mandanna, Tripti Dimri, Anil Kapoor, and Bobby Deol. The actor also has 'Brahmastra 2' in the pipeline with Ayan Mukerji.
