Zayn Malik paid a heartfelt tribute to his late friend, Liam Payne, during his concert in Wolverhampton on Friday, following the former One Direction member’s tragic passing in October. The performance, held at The Halls in Wolverhampton, marked a special moment for Zayn, who took a moment to remember Payne in front of the audience.
Zayn spoke emotionally to the crowd, saying, “I've been doing something, at the end of the show, every night, and it's been dedicated to my brother Liam Payne. Rest in peace.” He added, “I hope you're seeing this, we're in your hometown tonight, Wolverhampton, this is for you, Liam.” As a tribute, he then performed It's You, dedicating the song to Payne.
This wasn’t the first time Zayn had honoured his former bandmate. At his Leeds concert earlier in the week, he displayed a message on the screen that read, “Liam Payne 1993-2024. Love you, bro,” accompanied by a pink heart. However, Zayn had not publicly addressed Payne’s passing until now.

Liam Payne tragically passed away after a fall from his hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He died from internal and external haemorrhage. Zayn, who had shared a close bond with Liam, later expressed that he never got the chance to thank his bandmate for supporting him during some of the toughest times in his life.
Fans of both singers reacted to Zayn’s tribute on social media, with many sharing their emotional responses. One fan commented, “It’s so weird hearing him say Liam Payne and Rest in Peace in the same sentence. I don’t think I’ll ever get over it.” Another fan expressed, “He’d be so proud of you, buddy.”
