Amid several reports of indifferences between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Congress, which frequently make it to media headlines, both of the INDIA bloc allies agreed to hold a joint election campaign in Delhi, Haryana, and Chandigarh for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. According to an official statement, as reported by UNI, the decision to initiate coordination for election campaigns between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Congress was taken at a coordination committee meeting on Wednesday. The meeting was held days after Arvinder Singh Lovely quit the top Delhi unit post to register his protest about the tie-up between AAP and Congress. Two other party leaders have also quit the party, calling the alliance a "great embarrassment".
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national general secretary, Sandeep Pathak, said that a positive discussion took place between Congress and the AAP in the meeting. He also added that leadership from the Delhi and Haryana Congress was present in the meeting, and a decision was taken to initiate coordination for election campaigns at lower levels.

“The biggest question before the nation today is to safeguard the country's democracy. It's imperative to liberate the country from the authoritarianism of the Modi government. The central government is systematically dismantling government institutions one by one. All agencies are working at the behest of the central government. To save the country from the dictatorship of the Modi government, we need to support each other. Hence, both parties are ready and united. We had a very positive discussion among ourselves,” Pathak said.
“There has already been coordination among us, and now discussions are being held on how to take it forward. India Alliance will win in the upcoming Lok Sabha election, and BJP will face defeat. India Alliance will win all seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi,” he said.

The two parties, however, have vowed for unity, but it stops at the borders of Delhi and neighbouring Haryana and Punjab, besides a few other states. Even the two parties have fielded candidates against each other on several seats.
AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sandeep Pathak, Delhi MLA Durgesh Pathak, State Vice President and MLA Rajesh Gupta, and Delhi Congress in-charge Deepak Babaria, along with interim President Devendra Yadav along with several leaders from Delhi and Haryana, were present in the meeting.
