Harbhajan Singh, former Indian cricketer and current member of Rajya Sabha, has accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of selling the tickets of the upper house. While replying to a social media user, who asked about his decision to switch sides from the AAP to BJP, Singh replied that the ruling party in Punjab has destroyed the state. While the former cricketer had restricted the comments on his post, the Congress has asked him to reveal the exact details to the people.

Earlier on Friday, a social media user criticised him and other MPs for leaving the AAP, further asking if any monetary transaction was involved. "What price did you put on your conscience? I have heard that BJP has bid 25-25 crore for traitors- is it true?" the X user asked. While replying to him, Singh alleged that AAP sold the Rajya Sabha ticket, adding that the party has finished Punjab.

"When the time comes, every statement of yours will be answered. And I did not abuse any of your leaders. Why would I dirty my own tongue? And to those calling me a traitor, first ask your own people at what price the Rajya Sabha seat of Punjab was sold. If they don't tell you, I will tell you who received how much offering and from whose side," Singh said in his post.

"And how people were made ministers and officials to loot Punjab and deliver goods to the ‘Lala'. They have looted and finished Punjab," he added.

Congress, the principal opposition party in Punjab, urged the former cricketer to disclose the details to expose the AAP. "Harbhajan Singh's statement has exposed the ugly truth. The people of Punjab deserve answers from Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann," said Leader of Opposition Partap Singh Bajwa. The assembly election in Punjab will be held in the early months of 2027.
