Agniveer Death News: Two Army Agniveers lost their lives when an artillery shell exploded during a firing exercise at the Artillery school in Maharashtra's Nasik, the Indian Army said on Friday. The Agnipath recruits had come from Hyderabad to attend the training at the army training school. The Army has ordered a court of inquiry into the accident to find the exact cause behind the accident, ANI reported, citing the officials.
The deceased agniveers have been identified as Gohil Vishwaraj Singh (20) and Saifat Seet (21), a Times Now report stated. The incident reportedly took place when the soldiers were engaged in the routine firing exercise at the Nashik Artillery School. Officials said that while loading the cannon, a shell exploded, injuring the two agniveers. They were promptly taken to the Military Hospital, where both succumbed to the injuries.
Deolali Camp Police Station also registered a case of accidental death, based on a complaint by Havildar Ajit Kumar, news agency PTI reported. Further investigations are on, an official said.
