A few days ago, Agniveer Amritpal Singh from Mansa, Punjab, also lost his life in Jammu and Kashmir while on duty. He died of self-inflicted injury, but concerns were raised by opposition parties over the absence of the Military’s Guard of Honor during his last rites. In response, the Army explained that Amritpal's unfortunate death resulted from a bullet fired from a service rifle, and as per existing policy, a Guard of Honor was not accorded.
