Ahmedabad Rath Yatra 2025: Multiple elephants went out of control during the Rath Yatra in Ahmedabad after seeing a massive crowd near Khadia Golawad, leading to massive chaos among the devotees. The officials stated that the elephants started running after witnessing a massive crowd; however, a team from the forest department controlled them by giving injections. They further stated that the chaos led to injury to an individual who is being treated at a local hospital. The officials added that the elephants were later tied and taken to the side of the Rath Yatra. The chaos also led to the traffic congestion in the area, as several trucks got stuck for almost half an hour.

The Ahmedabad police on Thursday released a traffic advisory ahead of the much-hyped 148th Rath Yatra on Friday. The police stated that all the security arrangements have been made for a smooth procession. It further advised the devotees to follow the guidelines and to use the public transports to avoid any inconveniences.

The police further stated that multi-layered security arrangements have been made in several key regions of the city. The advisory suggested that multiple key areas of the city is likely to witness mass gathering due to the yatra. However, it emphasised that the administration has made all the preparations to avoid inconveniences to the devotees and daily commuters.
The police stated that the devotees are likely to witness a heavy traffic congestion in the Kalupur Railway Station area on Friday in connection with the yatra. It further advised the commuters going towards this area to use the metro to reach the railway station to avoid the gathering. Apart from this, the police also released a list of areas where the commuters will not be allowed to park their vehicles during the yatra.
