Kolkata To Dhaka Flight: Air India Express has announced the launch of new flight services connecting Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, to two major Indian cities - Kolkata and Chennai. The new routes, set to commence on September 3, 2024, will provide enhanced connectivity and economic ties between the two neighboring countries.
The airline will operate six weekly flights on both the Kolkata-Dhaka and Chennai-Dhaka sectors. Flights from Kolkata to Dhaka will depart at 11:55 am and arrive at 1:30 pm, with the return flights from Dhaka to Kolkata scheduled to leave at 11:10 pm and reach at 11:45 pm. The Chennai-Dhaka route will see flights departing at 7:00 pm and arriving at 10:10 pm, while the return flights from Dhaka to Chennai will operate at 2:30 pm and land at 4:50 pm. All flights will run from Tuesday to Sunday.

To mark the launch, Air India Express is offering special introductory fares. The one-way ticket price from Kolkata to Dhaka is priced at Rs 3443, while the return journey from Dhaka to Kolkata is available for Rs 4609. Similarly, the Chennai-Dhaka route is priced at Rs 4796 for the outbound flight and Rs 7223 for the return leg.
Aloke Singh, the Managing Director of Air India Express, expressed his enthusiasm for the new routes, stating, "Apart from trade and tourism, these flights will also help guests from Bangladesh travelling for medical treatments at specialty hospitals in Chennai and Kolkata. The services will also provide connections to Air India Express flights to the Gulf region, as also to Air India long-haul international flights."

With the addition of the Dhaka routes, Kolkata has become the third-largest hub for Air India Express, offering 158 weekly flights to 13 destinations directly and 20 through one-stop itineraries. From Chennai, the airline operates over 85 weekly flights, connecting 13 destinations directly and 24 through one-stop itineraries.
