Air India on Monday inaugurated its first flagship Maharaja Lounge at Terminal 3 of Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi. The state-of-the-art facility opened its doors to passengers following an inauguration by N Chandrasekaran, Chairman, Tata Sons and Air India.

Starting today, February 16, 2026, the lounge will be available for passengers travelling in First and Business Class, Maharaja Club Platinum and Gold members, as well as eligible Star Alliance Gold members.

According to Air India, this space is not just a lounge; it is a unique blend of Indian tradition and modern luxury. The flagship Maharaja Lounge boasts an array of features, including:

Maharaja Lounge

- Located at the International Pier of Terminal 3, the Maharaja Lounge is spread across 16,000 square feet and can accommodate up to 300 guests at a time.

- The Lounge has been designed to meet the evolving needs of the modern traveller, blending luxury with functionality.

- The state-of-the-art facility features an Aviator Bar inspired by the early chapters of Air India's aviation history, including JRD Tata’s 1932 Karachi to Bombay flight. The ceiling design reflects the propeller of the former Puss Moth aircraft.

- The Globetrotter Study is a dedicated space for business travellers in the lounge, featuring high-speed connectivity and a rich collection of books.

- The Serenity area in the lounge has been designed for pre-flight relaxation, featuring specialised recliners and a peaceful atmosphere.
