Air India's operatrions and safety standards have come under a majort scrutiny after the June 12 Ahmedabad plane crash which claimed the lives of 260 individuals, including 19 on the ground. The flight, enroute to London, plunged within a minute of takeoff and crashed into the hostel building of BJ Medical College and Hospital.
The crash was the deadliest in a decade, prompting investigation. The preliminary probe report suggest that the fuel switch turned to cut off just after the take off which could have been the cause of crash. However, the AAIB, probing the crash, has urged to wait for a final report ascertaining the cause of crash.
