Delhi Blast Case: Al-Falah University, located in Dhauj, Faridabad, has issued a statement regarding the alleged involvement of two of its doctors in terrorist activities. Vice Chancellor Dr Bhupinder Kaur, expressing deep regret over the incident on Wednesday, clarified that the university has no connection with the actions of the detained individuals in the Delhi blast case. She emphasised that the institution maintains only professional relationships with the doctors in question and that no unlawful activities take place on the university campus.

The statement read, "We are deeply saddened and distressed by this unfortunate incident and condemn it. Our thoughts and prayers are with all the innocent people affected by these tragic events. We have also learned that two of our doctors have been detained by investigating agencies."

"Our University has been conducting various academic and professional courses and has been training undergraduate MBBS students since 2019. The doctors trained and graduated from our institution are presently serving in reputed hospitals, institutions, and organizations across India and abroad, holding responsible and distinguished positions," it stated.

"We are deeply saddened and anguished by the unfortunate developments that took place and condemn the same. Our thoughts and prayers are with all the innocent people affected by these distressing events," the statement added.

"We have also learnt that two of our doctors have been detained by the Investigating Agencies. We wish to make it clear that the University has no connection with the said persons apart from them working in their official capacities with the University," it mentions.

"The University also notes with deep concern that certain online platforms are circulating baseless and misleading stories with the clear intent of maligning the reputation and goodwill of the University. We strongly condemn and categorically deny all such false and defamatory allegations," the university said.

"It is hereby clarified that no such chemical or material, as is being alleged by certain platforms, is being used, stored, or handled within the University premises. University laboratories are used solely and exclusively for the academic and training requirements of MBBS students and other authorized courses. Every laboratory activity is carried out in strict adherence to established safety protocols, statutory norms, and ethical standards mandated by the regulatory authorities," the university added.

"We also urge all organizations and individuals to act responsibly and verify through official channels before making or sharing any statements concerning the University," it added.

The Vice Chancellor has pledged cooperation with the police in their investigation of the matter and has appealed to students to maintain peace on campus.

Why Did Al-Falah University Made Headlines?

Al-Falah University made headlines when two doctors working there were arrested in connection with the recovery of 2,900 kilogram of explosives. Dr Umar Mohammed, a suspect in the blast near Delhi's Red Fort that killed 13 people, also worked at the university. Security teams have been searching the campus for the past few days and have questioned more than 50 people in connection with the incident, while 25 have been detained, including doctors and students.

Faridabad Police on Wednesday refuted the claim that the i20 car in which an explosion occurred had been at Al-Falah University, Daurala, for the past 10 to 11 days, where Dr Muzammil was working as a physician.
