Pakistan claimed that one of its China-made fighter jets had shot down two Indian aircraft on Friday. At the time, India did not issue any official response to the claim.

Asked about the matter today, Air Marshal AK Bharti said, "Would not like to comment as we are still in an air combat situation. It will be an advantage for the adversary. We have achieved our objectives. All our pilots are back home". India aimed to send a strong message through the operation, that terrorists targeting the country will find no safe haven. To Pakistan, it was a clear warning that supporting terrorism and allowing attacks on Indian soil would invite serious consequences.

Air Marshal Bharti stated that over the nights of May 9 and 10, in a span of just three short hours, the armed forces successfully destroyed 11 enemy bases, including those at Nur Khan, Rafiqui, Murid, Sukkur, Sialkot, Pasrur, Chunian, Sargodha, Skardu, Bholari, and Jacobabad.

Air Marshal Bharti also revealed that several ammunition depots and key bases, including Sargodha and Bholari, which housed F-16s and JF-17 fighter jets, were targeted during the operation. This, he said, resulted in the destruction of nearly 20 percent of Pakistan’s Air Force infrastructure.

Pakistan’s Bholari Air Base was also struck during the operation, resulting in the deaths of over 50 personnel, including Squadron Leader Usman Yousuf and four airmen, Air Marshal Bharti added. Several Pakistani fighter jets were also destroyed in the attack.

The coordinated efforts and objectives achieved by the Air Force, Army, and Navy played a crucial role in forcing a swift capitulation by Pakistan, Air Marshal Bharti noted.

The Army confirmed today that five Indian soldiers lost their lives in the conflict, while Pakistan has suffered significantly higher casualties.
