Following the incident, charges of culpable homicide not amounting to murder were brought against the theatre management, Allu Arjun and his team. The actor was arrested on December 13 and initially placed in 14-day custody by a city court. However, that same day, the Telangana High Court granted him interim bail for a period of four weeks.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has publicly criticised Allu Arjun for visiting the theatre without police permission and holding a 'roadshow' despite the stampede. In response to the allegations, Allu Arjun held a press conference, describing the claims against him as false and expressing his distress over what he termed "character assassination."
