Andhra Pradesh, Telangana Weather:  Andhra Pradesh is set to witness pre-monsoon activity over the next few days, as weather systems develop over the Bay of Bengal and surrounding regions.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate rain with thunderstorms across several parts of Andhra Pradesh, including North Coastal Andhra Pradesh, South Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, and the Yanam region, over the next three days. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds reaching speeds of 40–50 kmph are expected in many areas.

Low Pressure System Building in Bay of Bengal

A low-pressure area is likely to form over the west-central and adjoining north Bay of Bengal by May 27, which could bring increased rainfall to the region. This system is expected to enhance pre-monsoon activity not only in Andhra Pradesh but also in neighbouring states.

Favourable Conditions for Monsoon Onset

The IMD has also announced that conditions are favourable for the southwest monsoon to reach Kerala within the next two days. The monsoon is expected to spread over:

- South Arabian Sea

- Maldives and Comorin region

- Lakshadweep area

- Kerala, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu

- South and central Bay of Bengal

- Parts of the northeastern states

Weather Forecast for Andhra Pradesh (May 24– May 26)

1. North Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam

Weather: Light to moderate rain or thundershowers in a few places

2. South Coastal Andhra Pradesh

Weather: Light to moderate showers or thundershowers at isolated locations

3. Rayalaseema

Weather: Intermittent light to moderate rain and thundershowers in some areas

Telangana to Witness Rain for Four More Days

In Telangana, the Hyderabad Meteorological Centre has predicted light to moderate rain in some districts for the next four days. Thunderstorms with gusty winds are also likely.

Residents of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are advised to stay alert for lightning and strong winds. It is important to avoid outdoor activities during storms and regularly monitor IMD updates and advisories for the latest weather information.
