Odisha Housing Scheme: The Odisha government is getting ready to make a significant advancement in its effort to house the poor by allocating an additional one lakh homes under the Antyodaya Gruha (Housing Scheme) next month. By providing safe housing to more economically and socially disadvantaged families throughout the state, the program hopes to advance welfare and inclusive growth.

Rabi Nayak, the minister of drinking water and panchayati raj, announced this development and said the Odisha government has decided to include one lakh additional people to the flagship housing initiative in the next phase.

The minister added that this decision follows the first phase's effective implementation, in which 60,000 recipients were enrolled and given homes under the program.

“We have set a target of 1 lakh houses under Antodaya Gruha Yojana. We have already sent letters to Collectors and other officials and soon the work will be executed. Those who are disabled, widows, and other eligible beneficiaries will be included as they were earlier left out for some reason,“ said the Minister.

The state administration has started a comprehensive housing survey, which is anticipated to last until the end of May, in order to guarantee that the benefits are received by all eligible individuals. The purpose of this survey is to find and register people who require housing help, especially those who are not currently covered by any of the government's housing programs.

Additionally, Minister Naik reported that the continuing survey has already discovered and added over 29 lakh prospective beneficiaries. In order to make sure that no eligible family is left out, the state government has launched a large awareness campaign in rural and isolated regions, he said, underscoring the significance of community awareness and engagement.
