Arvind Kejriwal, Delhi's Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party national convenor, currently detained in Tihar jail over a money laundering case linked to the Excise Policy scam, has been administered insulin for the first time. Sources from the Aam Aadmi Party revealed that Kejriwal's blood sugar levels showed a continuous increase during his incarceration. The latest reports indicate his sugar levels reached 320.

Tihar jail officials in a statement said, "Yesterday, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal was administered low-dose insulin at Tihar Jail. His sugar level was 217 yesterday. AIIMS team had said that he can be administered low-dose insulin when the level crosses 200."

Accusations flew as Kejriwal claimed that despite repeated requests, the Tihar jail administration failed to provide him with insulin. However, Tihar authorities refuted Kejriwal's claims, stating that during a video consultation with AIIMS specialists, the issue of insulin was not raised.

"Today it is clear that the Chief Minister was right, he needed insulin. But the officials under the BJP's central government were deliberately not treating him. Tell me BJP people! If insulin is not needed then why are you giving it now? Because the whole world is cursing them," Delhi Minister and AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj said in a statement.

Earlier on Monday, the Delhi court rejected Arvind Kejriwal's plea seeking permission to consult his doctors through video conferencing for 15 minutes every day. The court directed AIIMS to form a medical board to evaluate Kejriwal's medical needs, particularly regarding insulin. Discrepancies between Kejriwal's jail diet and doctor-prescribed regimen were pointed out during the hearing.

The AAP has accused the Tihar administration of withholding insulin as part of a conspiracy against Kejriwal. Meanwhile, Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva dismissed the allegations, suggesting AAP's attempts to garner sympathy for Kejriwal's health ahead of elections.

In a letter to the Tihar jail superintendent, Kejriwal rebutted the jail administration's claims, asserting that he had consistently raised the issue of insulin demand over a 10-day period.
