Arvind Kejriwal News: The Supreme Court will not hear Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's request seeking a seven-day extension of his interim bail in a money laundering case linked to the Delhi liquor policy. While refusing the plea, the top court registrar, said that the AAP supremo was given permission to move trial court for regular bail, and hence this petition is "not maintainable".

Earlier on Tuesday, a vacation bench comprising Justices JK Maheshwari and KV Viswanathan took note of the arguments of senior advocate Abhishek Singhvi, appearing for the chief minister, and said the decision on the listing of the interim plea can be taken by the CJI as the judgement has been reserved in the main matter.

Recently, Kejriwal sought a seven-day extension of his interim bail to undergo various medical tests, including a PET-CT scan, due to his "sudden and unexplained weight loss coupled with high ketone levels," which could indicate serious health issues like kidney problems, severe cardiac ailments, or even cancer. In his new plea filed on May 26, AAP supremo said he will surrender before jail authorities on June 9 instead of June 2.

The top court had granted Kejriwal a 21-day interim bail on May 10, to allow him to campaign for the Lok Sabha elections. It was ordered that he must surrender on June 2, a day after the conclusion of the seven-phase election.

The case against Kejriwal involves alleged corruption and money laundering linked to the now-scrapped excise policy for 2021-22, formulated and implemented by the Delhi government.
