Arvind Kejriwal Plea Dismissed: After the Delhi High Court on Tuesday dismissed Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo Arvind Kejriwal's appeal against his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), sources in his party said that the leader might approach the Supreme Court against the verdict as early as Wednesday.
"Aam Aadmi Party does not agree with the decision of the Delhi High Court. Kejriwal will go to the Supreme Court against HC's decision. Kejriwal can go to the Supreme Court tomorrow itself," AAP sources cited by news agency ANI said. While delivering its verdict on Kejriwal's plea, the single-judge high court bench of Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma held the arrest legally valid.

"The court is of the view that the arrest of Arvind Kejriwal was not in contravention of legal provisions. The remand can't be held to be illegal," the bench was quoted as saying by news agency PTI. Kejriwal is currently lodged in Delhi's Tihar jail. He was remanded to a 15-day judicial custody by the trial court on April 1.
The Delhi CM was arrested by the ED on March 21, hours after the Delhi HC refused to grant him protection from coercive action by the central probe agency. In his plea before the high court, Kejriwal has questioned the "timing" of his arrest, which came barely a month ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha election, and argued that it was in violation of the basic tenets of the Constitution, including democracy and free & fair elections.
