The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Saturday accused BJP supporters of pelting stones at the convoy of former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal during his campaign in the New Delhi constituency.

In a post on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), AAP shared a video showing stone pelting on Arvind Kejriwal's convoy, which reads, "Fearing defeat, BJP panicked and got its goons to attack Arvind Kejriwal. BJP candidate Pravesh Verma's goons attacked Arvind Kejriwal with bricks and stones while he was campaigning and tried to hurt him so that he could not continue his campaign. BJP people, Kejriwal ji is not going to be scared of your cowardly attack. The people of Delhi will give you a befitting reply."

In response to AAP's allegations of an attack on Arvind Kejriwal's convoy, BJP candidate from the New Delhi assembly seat, Parvesh Verma, said, "Arvind Kejriwal's car drove ahead, crushing a BJP worker. The worker’s leg was broken, and I am going to Lady Hardinge Medical College to inquire about his health... This is very shameful..."

Parvesh Verma added: "They are injured and are being treated in the hospital. All the allegations of AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal are baseless... All three injured are residents of this assembly constituency, and they were hit by the car of AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal. Arvind Kejriwal is afraid of his defeat..."

Furthermore, BJP candidate from the New Delhi assembly seat, Parvesh Verma, said: "When AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal was campaigning door-to-door near Lal Bahadur Sadan, people of the New Delhi Assembly constituency were asking questions to AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal about employment, etc. When three residents named Vishal, Abhishek, and Rohit, who are unemployed, tried to ask questions to AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab Police beat them up, and a worker's phone was broken... AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal's car hit the three youths, and the driver of the car applied the brakes after seeing the three youths, but Arvind Kejriwal signaled the driver to crush them... They have been injured... This is an attempt to murder, and I am going to the police station... The three youths will also file an FIR, and a case of attempt to murder will also be registered..."

However, in another post on X, AAP wrote, "BJP has tried to kill the son (Arvind Kejriwal) of Delhi with its goons. BJP is so upset after seeing its defeat that it has decided to take the life of Kejriwal ji. Does BJP want to take revenge for working for the people of Delhi by killing Kejriwal ji?"

This comes after AAP Convenor Arvind Kejriwal is contesting against BJP’s former MP Parvesh Verma from the New Delhi constituency in the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, scheduled to take place on February 5. The election results will be announced on February 8.
